50th Anniversary Program
Tuesday, June 6th
The Bengies Drive-In Theatre's Grand Opening was on June 6, 1956. The Bengies crosses into the 50th Anniversary Year on June 6th. There is no official celebration until later in the summer, but we cannot let the screen be dark on June 6th. Because it is a weeknight, we are setting up a shorter program.
So for June 6th we have put together a program to reflect the opening year's era of film. I am fairly certain that when my Dad Jack, and his 2 brothers, Paul and Hank Vogel opened the theatre 50 years ago Tuesday, they did not think about the Silver Anniversary Date being 666.
The Box Office will open 6/6/6 at 6pm, and admission will be $6.00 per car. That’s 5 –sixes, so we can make it a bit less “ominous.” The full program schedule isbelow. It is loaded with the 50’s and era fun fare. Bogart, Curtis, Lollobrigida, Lancaster, Steiger, Sterling, Magoo, McBoing Boing… and much, much more.
