A GREAT time was had by all over the holiday weekend, and things went rather smoothly, the sun set when it was supposed to, the sun rose when it was supposed to, and the screen was full the entire time between!  But then, what is a Dusk To Dawn Show?  We are now back to Friday and  Saturday ONLY, but will soon go to 3 night operation.

Dear GREAT Patrons of the Bengies Drive-In Theatre,

The closer it gets to Sunset...  The longer the line will become.... ARRIVE EARLY!  Ya haven't heard that in while, eh?  Well, I know it is still true!

Just a preliminary greeting, and update. The regular program email will arrive this Thursday.  Season 53 is about to get underway!
We are OPEN on FRIDAY AND  SATURDAY  for the beginning of the season, starting THIS Friday and Saturday, April 18 & 19

It has been a very long and emotionally charged winter for me personally, and I am ready to get back to what I love to do the most, let this big ol drive-in theatre run me ragged.

Yes, we absolutely did "stall off" the opening, mostly because the conditions within the drive-in (ground was too soft) and the weather was just too wet and cold.  A lot of you emailed wondering, but most did not, which is a sign that you all were not ready either.  Things have been very different in the last 13 days or so, our timing seems to be perfect.

I hope we ALL are ready, I signed one heck of a mortgage in December and with that, completed "Step 2" in my now 22 year mission to save the Bengies Drive-In Theatre.  (yes, still more steps to go, and yes, they get more difficult but FINALLY  I am  NOW firmly in control of that ...  ....Well, me and the Bank... )

For the Season Opener, Starting THIS Friday and Saturday, April 18 & 19....   

We are starting off directly with "FIRST RUN" product, and a pretty amazing one at that, as we are opening "THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM" starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li, in the wide screen action and adventure that hits the nation's theatres this Friday, rated PG13.  This main feature will play in the middle (9:45pm)  of this TriPPPle Feature!

We will start the show (7:45PM) with our TWILIGHT OPENING, a Warner Brothers Classic Cartoon, and then right into the fun fantasy "PENELOPE," rated PG, starring Christina Ricci and Reese Witherspoon, and host of others.  It is wide screen as well, and if you do not know what this movie is, I would not be surprised because it was release by a small distributor and the "print count" was what it could afford to do. It is a fun movie with a lot of heart.

We are saving the R rated wide screen Comedy, Drama, Thriller and Crime/Gangster story of  "The BANK JOB" for last (11:45pm) only because of the rating.  I wanted to see it, but did not, so our own KEN ADAM (the guy with the broken accent who likes to play in the concession stand and occasionally talks on the microphone) gave us a high recommendation on this one.

ALL 3 FEATURES ARE IN WIDE SCREEN, STRETCHING EDGE TO EDGE ON THE BIGGEST MOVIE THEATRE SCREEN IN THE U.S.A.  We WILL include Warner Brothers CLASSIC CARTOONS at opening and both intermissions, unless the crowd decides to play "LEAPING WEENIE TRIVIA" at the 2nd intermission instead.

If you have not ever attended the Bengies, or if it has been a while, PLEASE "brush-up" on "drive-in etiquette."  (For those of you who may not know what that is, please go back and click on the word, the literal original meaning and the modern use of it may surprise a lot of you!)  I welcome ALL to the Bengies but please remember, it is my "house" and entering comes with agreement on the house rules and policies.  Please do not put your feet on the coffee table, or spit in my living room! Tuesday,  November 13 until 11:59pm (TODAY for most reading this) is the LAST day to Order the Bengies "MARQUEE" design Tee in your choice of color! See the information Below.  These SPECIAL ORDERS have to be placed to insure delivery for the holidays.

Also, a Heads up for the Season End.  We will NOT be operating this weekend of November 16 & 17, BUT we will be Open for our last weekend of the 2007 Season, and the last of the regular operating days on Thanksgiving weekend, Friday and Saturday, November 23 & 24.

As some of you heard over the last 2 weekends, there will be a promotional screening this week at the Bengies of a new picture soon to be released.

So here’s the deal, if you wish to attend this special screening here at the Bengies, this WEDNESDAY, August 1,  to see this movie prior to the Friday National release, you must do the following for approval.  REMEMBER, I am only authorized for an additional 100.

I will need a count as to how many people will be attending in the vehicle.  So the TOTAL, including you. You will also need to print out the reply as proof of authorization, so bear that in mind before you respond.  YOU CANNOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL.

This weekend we present the W I D E - S C R E E N  Fantasy, ACTION, and Adventure of  "TRANSFORMERS" rated PG13, with an all star cast including Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight, and Megan Fox.  Our co-feature is the drama, humor and thrills of "DISTURBIA" rated PG13, it also stars Shia LaBeouf as well as, Carrie-Anne Moss, David Morse, Sarah Roemer, Aaron Yoo.  To spoil you rotten and make it a triPPPle feature treat, for Friday and Saturday only, we brought back (by popular demand) the very funny animated treat, "SHREK The THIRD" rated PG.

This is the first week for "TRANSFORMERS" and the co-features will change for next week.

Again I remind you that the WORST POSSIBLE time to arrive starts at 40 minutes before show time.  This is when all the folks in this "I WANT IT NOW" world begin to arrive and this creates huge lines. ARRIVE EARLY, we are opening the box office 2 hours and 15minutes before the first show starts on Friday and Saturday, and 1 hour and 45 minutes before the show start on Sunday. THE CLOSER IT GETS TO SUNSET, THE LONGER THE LINE WILL BECOME, NO FOOLING, and if you have been in that line, you already know!!!

HEADS UP WARNING TO ALL PET OWNERS. It is very possible that in the VERY near future we will have to restrict pets from attending the theatre.   Most of our patrons are wonderful about bringing thiner pets and looking after them RESPONSIBLY.  There are a few who are about to ruin it for everyone.  We are close to restricting pets from coming altogether because of the few.  I am going to try this first, and I need all RESPONSIBLE pet owners to help us monitor it.  1. All pets must be on a leash. 2. "Potty" rules are as follows:  2A. DO NOT LET YOUR DOG HIKE ITS LEG AND PEE ON OUR SPEAKER POSTS. 2B. All patrons with dogs MUST carry either a pooper scooper, or plastic bags and pick up after the dog, AND dispose of the waste properly. PLEASE SEE SECURITY for areas that we will allow you to walk the dog for "curbing," unused parking spaces ARE NOT an acceptable place to walk the dog for potty purposes. 3. PETS CANNOT COME INTO THE CONCESSION STAND OR BATHROOMS!  4. Any action on a pet owner's part that is irresponsible or causes a problem for the management or other patrons will be leave without a refund.

The truth is we nearly never have problems with it, again it is the few that are about to ruin this for the many. Pet lovers and good patrons beware, if you see any irresponsibility on the part of a pet owner, please call it to our attention IMMEDIATELY.
